Western Chic - Rustic Barn Wedding at Urth Ranch, British Columbia

Set against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountain valley, this Western Chic BC Wedding blended family tradition with laid-back elegance. Even with the rain rolling in, their day was filled with bright energy, heartfelt moments, and the kind of celebration that felt entirely true to who they are. Horses in the pasture, music in the barn, and a room full of people ready to cheer them on; it was unforgettable from start to finish.

Urth Harvest Barn

The ceremony and reception took place on the couple’s family ranch, a stunning white barn surrounded by mountains and open pasture. This style of barn wedding is becoming increasingly popular in BC, not just for the scenery, but for the easy mix of comfort, style, and nature. With horses just beyond the fence line and rolling clouds settling over the peaks, the venue felt relaxed, personal, and deeply tied to the land. The grandeur of the barn’s wooden doors and clean architecture gave the celebration a polished feel while still embracing the heart of ranch life.

Where Mountains Meet “I Do”

The ceremony site faced toward the peaks, with handcrafted wooden benches in front of the barn. The setup was minimal, allowing the landscape, the mountains, the sky and the quiet stillness just before the ceremony began.

Their western chic theme wasn’t just a nod to cowboy culture; it was lived-in, meaningful, and rooted in their family home. Soft garden florals, vintage-style chairs, and woven baskets overflowing with fresh blooms brought a romantic contrast to the rugged landscape.

This wedding featured a soft, rustic garden theme with refined, natural touches. The palette blended muted pastels—blush, peach, lavender, and pale yellow—with fresh greens and soft whites. Inside the barn, long wooden farm tables were paired with mismatched chairs and delicate chiffon runners, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Each place setting featured frayed-edge linen napkins tied with pastel silk ribbons, coordinating beautifully with the loose garden florals of peonies, bellflowers, and ferns. The overall look was effortlessly romantic—fresh, light, and full of organic charm, perfectly complementing the mountain barn setting.

The bouquets feature a mix of soft pastels and fresh greens, combining peach and ivory roses, white peonies, lilac bellflowers, and touches of wild greenery like ferns and Queen Anne’s lace. The overall style is loose and garden-inspired, giving a natural, freshly picked look.

Every detail of this western chic wedding flowed seamlessly thanks to Rosie Leigh Events’ day-of coordination. Rain or shine, the couple enjoyed their special day stress-free, and you can too!

Love in the Rain

Guests held umbrellas as the couple said their vows outdoors, turning a wet forecast into one of the day’s most joyful moments. Despite the rain, the couple walked back up the aisle laughing, soaked, and completely glowing.
